Teaching a Multicultural Approach to Florida Folk Life

Teaching Florida Folk Life in a Florida classroom can open the door to new information that is relevant to the lives of students and that  can be applicable as they progress through and beyond their studies. Taking a multicultural approach to teaching Florida Folk Life is not only more inclusive pedagogically, it also provides a more complete account of Florida’s historical past.  A multicultural exploration of Florida’s folk history can also foster a more nuanced understanding and appreciation of contemporary cultural diversity in the sunshine state.
